Essential Certifications
OZEV Approved Installer
If you want to claim the government grant, your installer MUST be OZEV-approved. Check the OZEV installer list on the gov.uk website.
Electrical Competent Person Scheme
Installers must be registered with a government-approved scheme:
- NICEIC - National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting
- NAPIT - National Association of Professional Inspectors and Testers
- ELECSA - Electrical Self-Assessment
- SELECT - Scotland's electrical trade association
- ECA - Electrical Contractors' Association
Part P Certification
All electrical work in UK homes must comply with Part P of the Building Regulations. Competent Person scheme members can self-certify their work.

Many charger manufacturers require installers to complete specific training. Ask if your installer is approved by your chosen charger brand.
