Getting an EV charger installed typically takes 1-3 weeks from initial enquiry to completion. Here's what happens at each stage.
Week 1: Enquiry and Quote
The process begins when you request quotes from installers. Most installers respond within 24-48 hours. During this phase:
- Day 1-2: Submit enquiry and receive initial response
- Day 2-4: Photo survey or site visit to assess your property
- Day 4-7: Receive detailed quote including charger, installation, and any additional work needed
Week 2: Booking and Preparation
Once you accept a quote:
- Day 8-10: Confirm installation date and pay deposit (if required)
- Day 10-12: Installer orders charger and materials
- Day 12-14: DNO notification submitted (if required)
Installation Day
The actual installation typically takes 2-4 hours:
